Trish Widener is a 33 years young, married with two beautiful children cystic fibrosis patient awaiting a double lung transplant at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She has been hospitalized since March 15 at Inova Fairfax hospital and was transferred to UMMC March 29. Trish is the founder of the 501c3 non-profit canine rescue, Purple Paws 2nd Chance Rescue (PP2CR), in northern Virginia which rescued over 170 dogs in 2016. Trish lives for her family, friends, and giving dogs the same second chance she prays she'll receive with new lungs. Her fight for life and warm spirit comes from her love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Even while awaiting new lungs, feeling defeated, and in severe pain, Trish will still ask how the hospital staff is doing when she discovers one of them is dealing with a personal hardship. Trish's heart for others is undeniable. She is an all or nothing person who truly doesn't know how to slow down and rest. She fights everyday to breathe, with each breath praying that "today is the day" she has a donor, knowing all to well what a "donor" means. Someone must pass for her to have a chance to live. This page was created by her husband for family and friends to stay in touch with Trish's journey home, to share with one another, and to show Trish just how big of an impact she has made on those she comes in contact with. Please share and enjoy!
