On October 1st, 2016, Trey was in a tragic car accident that pinned his ankle under the dash. Despite a valiant effort by doctors, it became clear that his foot could not be saved. On October 17th the doctors performed a below the knee amputation. Trey remained in the hospital until October 24th and then was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital. He was released to Out-Patient care on Nov 3rd but will return once his limb is healed enough to begin prosthetic training. Thanks to a tremendous out pouring of love and support from family, friends, teammates, coaches and the always amazing Dripping Springs community, Trey has remained positive and focused on healing. He is hopeful that he will be able to graduate on time and possibly even play football his Senior year.
