Trelicia Cox Trelicia hurdles to life

First post: Aug 24, 2017
A screening mammogram determined a biopsy was needed. The biopsy determined good ole cancer was present! Now what course of action. Do we just remove the lump? Treat it Beat It and Move on was Dr. SPEED'S motto. Decided to have genetic testing.  Wouldnt you know the BRCA genes were both negative.  However ATM (wish it was actually money) gene was present. This would increase recurrence 40-50%. Although I enjoy a good casino game, I decided not to take the chance on just the lump removal. So I opted for bilateral(both) mastectomy (breast) removal with a DIEP(fancy tummy tuck) flap reconstruction at the same time. Surgery was extensive Dr Teresa Wang & Shih performed the procedure. A few days later had to return to surgery due to some uncontrollable  bleeding.  Since that time everything has been healing wonderfully. There are a few more things to have done to my breasts but they're on pause right now!😊
Now I'm currently faced with chemotherapy treatments. I have gone through 2  rounds. Continue next Wed. I have hydration & Neulasta(white blood count booster) treatments Thurs after treatment. The whole process wipes me out & makes me feel rough & blah. Will continue through the hurdles though cause I have other things I want to do.  He's not done with me yet🤗.
