Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Dear Family and Friends,

This is hard to write, but I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Many of you know that in April, my sweet father was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He is doing very well and his last chemo treatment is scheduled for this Tuesday November 20th. Praise God that he is finished. Thank you for all of your prayers of support for both my Mom and Dad. Please continue to pray for them that the cancer is gone.

As a result of my Dad’s diagnosis, I was tested to see if I was a carrier of the RAD50 gene mutation that my father had. I am a carrier, and this means that I have a higher risk for breast and cervical cancers. I have been a patient of the Mayo Clinic for the past 2 years. They have been treating me for fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Because of this I was able to set up an appointment with the Breast Clinic on November 6th. My appointment was with Dr. Ghosh. She is the Director of the Breast Clinic. She did my exam and found a lump. Everything then happened very quickly. I had 3 mammograms, an ultrasound, and an MRI. This was followed by a biopsy of the lump, an additional MRI guided biopsy of an area of concern that my first MRI showed. Then we got the results of the biopsy. The tests showed that I have invasive ductile carcinoma. The ultrasounds showed that it has NOT spread to my lymph glands, yet. The second MRI guided biopsy showed that I have flat epithelial atypia.

I will return to Mayo Clinic on November 23rd to meet with my surgeon and cancer doctors to go over my surgical treatment options. Greg & my girls (Shelby and Abby) will be able to go with me. Many prayers are needed and will be appreciated at this time. Pray for wisdom for my doctors. Pray for my peace and understanding of the decisions that I must make. Pray for strength for myself, Greg, and my girls (I love them all so much!)

This is a difficult time for us emotionally, physically, spiritually, and in many other ways. Thursday will be my 4th trip to Rochester this month. Keep me and my family in your prayers. Either I or Greg will update this page on caring bridge.I love you all so much, and would love to hear from you.

With love,

Trecy
