Several people have asked me to give a bit of background for those who haven't been following "the saga" for the past week.  On Thursday 26 Jan, while skiing with friends in Big Sky, Montana, Travis fell and had to be taken by ambulance to Bozeman.  Late that night, he was medevac'd to Denver's University of Colorado Hospital for a spinal injury.  Xrays showed damage to the 4, 5 & 6 vertebrae.  Since then he has gone into surgery twice to repair (added hardware) the damaged places.  From the beginning, he maintained sensation in all limbs, and some limited mobility.  Due to the surgeries, he has been unable to swallow; and so has not eaten since the accident.  Occupational Therapists (OT) and Physical Therapists (PT) as well as speech therapists (for the swallowing) have been in and out... He was put on meds to elevate his blood pressure and has been in the Neuro ICU since arriving here in Denver.

If they couldn't medevac him to San Diego, we are thankful that Denver was the destination.  Travis' sister Connie and her husband Russ live in Colorado Springs and have been here from the beginning.  Our daughter Nancy and her new (2 weeks) husband are moving to Denver soon.  They have, in fact, rented an apartment and I will be moving into it before they!
