Apparently, my Cancer story started a couple of years ago.  At least that's what my Colorectal Surgeon tells me.  For me, it started back in July.  I was lucky enough to get hemorrhoids which let to an emergency Hemorrhoidectomy.  That was the worst pain I've ever experienced.  Since then I've haven't been "regular".  The level of discomfort got so bad a few weeks ago that I went to the ER.  The ER doctor recommended that I get a colonoscopy just to check things out.  I scheduled it for Monday, November 12th.  When I woke from the procedure, the GI doctor told me that he found a mass that he is fairly certain to be cancer.  He referred me to an Oncologist and Colorectal Surgeon.  I had those appointments on Wednesday and the diagnosis was confirmed - Rectal Cancer.  We don't know the stage yet.  I have a CT Scan scheduled for Monday the 19th to see if the cancer has spread to my lymphnodes, liver or lungs.  This is where my fear lies.  I'm so scared that it has spread.  Tuesday the 20th I have an endoscopy scheduled to see how deep the mass is.  This will determine the staging as well as the treatment plan.  I firmly believe that this was God's plan.  I had to go through hemorrhoidectomy in order to "stumble" upon this Rectal Cancer.  Funny how He works upstairs.  Otherwise, I never would have had a colonoscopy at the age of 42.    Due to my early diagnosis, my children will have to have their first colonoscopy at the age of 30.  I'm so very grateful that my cancer has been caught so early.  That's where we are right now.  I appreciate all your love and prayers.  XOXO
