Tracy Ford

First post: Jan 5, 2017 Latest post: Jan 28, 2017

On Sunday, January 1st Tracy fell from a second story hotel veranda in Deadwood, South Dakota. He was dismantling a New Year's Eve Ball Drop that was lowered during the New Year's Eve celebration the night before, much like they do in New York City. Together with two friends, Tracy had been doing this job for 19 years. An electrician by trade, Tracy and his companions have a side business, Fire in the Sky, that produces firework shows and New Year's celebrations, like the one he was working on last Sunday.

Tracy suffered a broken neck, arms  and serious  internal injuries. He has had one kidney removed. He remains in critical condition at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Tracy is able to move his arms and legs, so he has no paralysis at this point. He  is under sedation so he can remain stable and not cause any further damage to his injuries.

Tracy will need many surgeries and therapy before he is well again. He is a very strong and determined person and our family has no doubt that he will get better. We will use this website to update everyone on his condition. Please feel free to post encouragements and comments.

Thank you,
Tim, Terry, Todd, and Judy
