It was a routine mammogram on 13 May 2016 but I could not have foreseen the news that would mark this year as a challenge. I received news the following week that I was being called back for a diagnostic mammogram, but I wasn't alarmed. This was a common event for me since 2002 when I had a small non-cancerous growth in a duct in my left breast. During the diagnostic mammogram, they called me for another look using an ultrasound. During the ultrasound, the radiologist asked me to schedule a biopsy as soon as possible. That was new. On 25 May, I had 3 places biopsied at the Carol Milgard Breast Center. One was benign - left breast. Two were cancerous. And so the journey began.... After 24 weeks of neoadjuvant treatment completed, I am now set for surgery on 22 December 2016. This is where I will update my condition. Thanks for following! I shall look forward to your entries as I continue on this journey to wholeness.
