My brother Tony is no stranger to cancer. He was first diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2007 and was treated, at that time they seemed to have gotten all of the cancer. He started having problems again in 2012 and finally went to the doctor. The cancer was back and was more aggressive this time. Tony has no health insurance and has been refused further treatment due to owning over $70K for prior treatment that he is not able to pay. He has continued to live with the ups and downs of daily life all the while the cancer still growing. He is unable to hold down a job due to the health issues the cancer causes. Recently, it has gotten to the point of almost unbearable to him. He is in constant pain and has significant problems associated with the growth of the cancer. He has lived a difficult life, making not so good choices as we all have done but does not deserve to live this way. He tries to keep his chin up but I know he fights with not only the pain and the not knowing just how long he has along with great episodes of depression. Honestly, who wouldn't. I pray for him every day and ask God to give him the strength and help with the resources he needs to fight this cancer. I pray he is given the opportunity to fight this rather than just wait for it to take him. After all, he is my big brother and I still need him in my life, I love him dearly.
