Near the completion of Tony’s mandated COVID quarantine at home, his symptoms worsened warranting at hospital/ICU admission. Although some hurdles have been overcome, at this time, he remains on ventilator in ICU and most of the remaining obstacles in his recovery are related to his lungs. The ICU/pulmonary doctors, together with the rest of the ICU team have been monitoring Tony closely and attempting to make small changes in the ventilator support that is required daily. He has received all recommended treatments and medications related to COVID at this time. We have been told this recovery will be a marathon, not a sprint. We need to be patient regarding his recovery. The staff has been wonderful with providing Tony excellent care and taking the time to provide me (Madeline) with updates on any progress or changes that occur. We, the Dziallo family, are humbled and overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and prayers that all of you have sent our way. We hope Caring Bridge can facilitate communication regarding Tony’s status from the staff caring for him, through me, and then to all of you who love, and support us. Thank you so very much.
