Tony Davis

Tony Davis is the husband to Tara and the father to Kole Schroeder, Trey, Taryn, and Trevor. For the last 2 years Tony has felt a pain in his chest that he described as xiphoid pain (middle of chest under rib cage). He brought this to his doctors attention more than once and did not get any answers as to what it was. He has had regular physicals every six months from the VA and his family doctor and was told that nothing was wrong. Recently he has been to the emergency room four times over a few months with the complaint of chest pain and again nothing was ever found. On Sunday February 12th he went to the emergency room and once again was not getting any answers so he demanded a CT. The doctor ordered a CT and the results were shocking. The doctor told Tony that he had a 9cm (4 inch) mass the size of an orange on his left kidney. He was scheduled an appointment with the cancer doctor in Iowa City on Wednesday February 15th. Fear, anxiety, pain, stress, unanswered questions, why's and what if's were running through his mind. February 15th he saw the urology oncologist at the University of Iowa and was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer. Due to the kind of cancer that he is dealing with the doctor ordered additional tests to make sure the cancer hadn't spread. He had a brain scan on Thursday February 16th and that was NEGATIVE. He also had a bone scan on Wednesday February 22nd and that was NEGATIVE. Praise GOD!!! He is scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor and his left kidney on Monday February 27th at the University of Iowa. Please keep him in your prayers!!! I babysat for Tony and Tara's kids starting when Trey was 8 months old and now Taryn babysits my kids. This is a great family and we need to show our support!!!
