Hi Everyone:

Jack, Paul, Jamie and I wanted to update you concerning Dad.....right after the new year, Dad thought he contracted the flu but as of this past Thursday (Jan 5), he was admitted to Leonard Morse Hospital with pneumonia in one lung; his condition is further challenged by both compromised cardiac and kidney functions from his lymphoma battle a couple of years ago.

His condition deteriorated  quickly Thursday evening but stabilized by Friday morning after he was placed on a ventilator. He is being treated by Drs. Laguarda (pulmonary), Chun (infectious disease), Kaplan (cardiologist), and ICU Nurses....all his former co-workers who are taking his care VERY personally! He's where he wants to be and was alert and in agreement with the strategy when the diagnosis was made.

We are advised given his age and the above complications that this is currently a 50/50 situation - he is however trending ever so slowly in the correct direction; we have also been advised that this ventilation and ICU visit could be another week; followed by 2- 4 weeks of hospital and rehab until he is back on his feet.

Right now ICU has restricted visitors and inquires to immediate family. We thought therefore this was the best way to communicate and update you as conditions change.

Prayers and thoughts are all we ask for Dad right now!

Jack, Paul, Jamie & Dave
