Toni is recovering from a massive heart attack she suffered at her home in Minneapolis earlier this week. We're not exactly sure of the timing, but Toni called in sick to her workplace on both Monday and Tuesday, then was transported via ambulance to Abbott Northwestern Hospital on Tuesday morning and her family was alerted.
The cardiac team performed a bypass surgery and also replaced a valve in Toni's heart. Due to blood clots in her heart, another surgical procedure took place Wednesday night. Toni remains in critical condition and is heavily sedated, but she is in good hands. Machines are helping her body function, while her heart heals. All other organs are currently working well, which is a great relief. For now, Toni needs to rest and heal her hurting heart and let the hospital staff care for her body.
Many friends have asked how to be of help at this time. We very much appreciate your prayers and healing thoughts for Toni's body to be restored to good health. Visiting is currently limited to family members only, but we will let you know when she is cleared for more visitors.
