On the evening of May 6th, Tommy went in to cardiac arrest. Paramedics arrived quickly and were able to restart his heart immediately. He was taken to a hospital where he was started on Therapudic Hypothermia in ICU. This protocol has a good success rate and last approximately 72 hours. On Monday night, less than 48 hours later, he started to respond. He was able to open his eyes, recognize family members and respond to commands. Praise the Lord!! He had a good day on Tuesday, making many advances, however went into Afib Wednesday afternoon. Thursday morning he finally is back to a regular heartbeat. He is not yet out of the woods and has a long road to recovery.
He is very grateful for all the prayers and well wishes, however he wishes to only communicate with his family at this point. He will receive your messages and we will keep you updated. As soon as he is up for calls or visits, we will let you know.
