Hi to all our friends and family who have been so gracious and supportive of Tom and I! We appreciate all of you and are so thankful for everything you have done to help us during this challenging time in our life. We are especially thankful for all of your prayers! We are setting up this Caring Bridge website to provide everyone with updates on this crazy journey we are on and to provide a platform for you to reach out to us.
Back in mid 2020 Tom went in for his annual exam and had the standard labs drawn. When the results came back it was apparent that some things were off. After several doctors visits it was determined his liver was definitely taking the toll of his happy-go-lucky lifestyle. Tom quit drinking November 5th, 2020, cold turkey, and has not had a drop since. We had hoped his liver would regenerate, however, after 6 months things were not getting better. At the end of May 2021 he was evaluated at the University of Washington Medical Center for a liver transplant and accepted to their program. Tom's daughter Aly lives in Seattle so it seemed like the obvious place to go.
