On July 23rd around 8:45pm, Tommy was is horrific jet ski accident on Morse Reservoir in Noblesville. He was taken to Riverview Hospital in order to meet the Lifeline helicopter to be transported to a level 1 Trauma center in Indianapolis. The EMT’s did have to take him into Riverview in order to stabilize him for transport.
Once in Indianapolis they immediately preformed a CT scan and a MRI for more information.
This accident has left Tommy with multiple fractures in his C1/C2 where they had to fuse the bone. He underwent a 13 hour bedside procedure to repair his 2 open fractures in his jaw line. He has a trachea for his vent and his jaw is wired shut.
Over this past weekend they started weening him from the vent but developed pneumonia. He is being treated for that and is actually doing well.
He is remembering how to do basic sign language and can communicate in other ways.
Tommy has movement with his left leg and hand, and some slower movement with his right leg. As of today his right arm is not wanting to cooperate. We are unsure if it is due to brain damage or nerve damage.
Needless to say the last two weeks have turned our world upside down. This like anything, we will conquer any bump or hill in our road God has paved. Any small progress is progress and we will rejoice in the simple fact there is progress.
Please continue to pray for Tommy.  He has a very long and difficult recovery, physical, mental as well as emotional.
