Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Tom had an Anterior Cervical Fusion on February 24, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Instead of a one night hospital stay,  which is typical, he ended up hospitalized for three months due to complications including a condition called Central Cord Syndrome.  Life changed dramatically for both of us and Tom spent his hospital time doing in-patient rehab at the St. Cloud Hospital for three and a half weeks followed by two months at the Minneapolis VA in their spinal cord injury unit. He had to relearned how to walk  in addition to other basic tasks.
We are still adjusting to  the many changes this has made in our lives and are now facing a second neck surgery on November 9.  You can follow his progress on this site.
