Welcome to our CaringBridge website Tom Immonen. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On Sept 4th our father had slipped and fell taking a significant hit to the back of his head. He was brought to Emergency at Ontonagon Hospital  where they had completed a CT scan and noticed a small brain bleed. He was concious and talking and we were all there with him prior to them sending him by ambulance to the hospital in Wausau. For travel and safety precautions they had to place him on a ventilator. He was admitted into ICU at Aspirus Hospital. Due to the area of the bleed in the brain he has lost motor control in left arm and leg which we are hopeful it will return with therapy and healing. Another CT scan was also done after he arrived   and the bleed doubled in size from the initial scan.  For now they are keeping the ventilator on him as the healing begins.. The Nuerosurgeon advised the hematoma from fall lead to an intracereble brain hemorrhage (ICH).  Dad is able to communicate by squeezing your hand when asking him questions and can open his eyes a little which is such a positive sign, he knows we are here with him! We know he has quite a healing journey ahead but we are so thankful he is here with us and surrounded by his family and  friends. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers, calls and messages. Your Love and support means so much to all of us
