Dear Family, If you are on this website, we are all family and Tom and I thank you for your love and concern. This is an adventure, episode, period (?) that you all are concerned about and would like updates about. Wise advice has told me that this is the best way to keep you all informed without taxing the system. Tom has to go in for some repairs, a part has past it’s warranty, and he has to have his aortic valve replaced. The good news is that he is, otherwise, very healthy and, as you all know, is still his very upbeat, positive self. The procedure is standard in the cardiac community, just not in one’s personal life. The recuperation period is a bit long, but, he will be stronger and more energetic ( really? He’s pretty active) when this is behind him he will have greater energy and will continue to be a super hero. We are off to Mexico City for a couple of days and then on to San Miguel de Allende to celebrate our dears friends birthday, Anneli Collins, her son Nick, and Joan Miles (no one likes to be left out of a story). Shortly after our return, Tom will check into Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City on January 12th for surgery. After it’s successful completion, he will remain there for five nights. We have had a one day experience there and the care givers and facility are amazingly caring and we are so comforted and confident to be in their care. We are very grateful to have this hospital available to us.
