Tom went into the emergency room on May 27,2020 thinking he had covid symptoms and wanted to be tested. Upon arrival to the hospital they told him they thought he was having a heart attack. They sent him to United hospital. At United hospital they told him he did have a heart attack and felt he needed a defibrillator. Upon more testing they decided he needed a heart pump (Lvad) and sent him to Abbott-Northwestern as they are specialists in this pump. He was transferred to Abott and they started making plans to insert this pump.
