Welcome to our family page for Tom/Dad! We are so blessed and appreciative of all the love and support from everyone around us; near and far.

On Tuesday, July 18th, Dad went out to do yard work about 12:30pm. After a couple hours, Mom still hadn't seen him come inside and everything was in the same place as it was earlier in the day. When she went outside to look for him, about 3:15pm, she found him on the ground, appeared to have fallen into the bushes, he was holding himself up by his left hand with a strange body position, face was drooping, and the right side of his body unable to move. After seeking out the neighbor, who was taking in his trash cans, they got him up and called 911.

He was rushed to the hospital and it turned out he had an severe Ischemic stroke. They rushed him in to surgery and successfully retrieved the blood clot in the left side of his brain, right at the 6 hour mark.

It has been a rollercoaster of an experience for him and all of us. Please keep checking back for updates and prayer requests. Only if you feel led, this site will also include ways you could help when Dad gets home (i.e., meals, yard).
