On the evening of March 4, Tom reached the end of his journey with cancer, leaving his body with his two sons by his side. He had been on hospice with local friends or family sitting with him pretty much 24/7 the last several weeks. Younger son Morgan was the mainstay of his support and has been at the Neahkahnie Mountain House with Tom much of the time since the holidays and will continue to be there on and off this spring as Tom's personal representative/executor. Elder son Skye has been coming up from Oakland to help out. All of us were together for a lovely Christmas though Tom was already in considerable pain and on heavy meds. It was all made merry by our granddaughters, ages 8 and 5.
