Todd Martin Todd's cancer journey

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.I will try and tell what has happened in the last few weeks.  I drove Todd the ER last Thursday with pain and blood clots in his urine.  Was admitted to the hospital for over night.  Was able to come home with orders to take it easy and no heavy lifting at work.  Went to work Monday and came home early with pain in his back.  Took him to ER in Arlington unable to urinate  and extreme pain.  Got pain under control and ambulanced him to Mankato.  Admitted to hospital.  Tuesday morning he passed 5 huge blood clots.  They did a catheter irragation of his bladder which produce clear going in and out. . But this was a very uncomfortable  and bloating feeling. They removed the catheter and he was  able to urinate but was very bloody.  We have been told that his creatine level which judges his kidney function which last Friday was 2.3 and Monday at ER was a 3.7 and then Tuesday was a 5.2.  Kidney function is at 12%. Today, Wednesday  since 8 a.m until now at quarter to 12 it has been nonstop with doctors and information.  Feeling overwhelmed and emotional.  We have to wait and see with more information to come.  Kidney function dropped to 11%.  Talk of dialysis and other procedures.  Another syndrome may be causing the bleeding in his kidney.  Dont know how long we will be here.  Visitors are welcomed!!  As of now no working.  This is going to be tough.  He will be on bedrest when he comes home.  I will probably be with him here at the hospital all week.  Scary with how all this is going to be financially with all  this.  I have no more time at work for paid  time off.  We will need all our friends help spiritually and financially.  It has all been so overwhelming and trying to figure out what is best for Todd and our  family.  Thank you for visiting.
