Hello everyone! Welcome to our Caring Bridge site. Todd and I created it so that there is a quick and simple way to keep family and friends updated . . . if they wish. My initial primary focus will be making sure Todd behaves himself at the hospital. We will see how that goes! Afterward, my focus will change to making sure he behaves himself during physical therapy. Another adventure, I'm sure!
Todd's surgery takes place Wednesday, July 6th at about 8:15am (although we have to be there at 5:30am!! Yikes!) The surgery itself only takes a couple of hours, however the recovery is a different story. It is so unlike getting a new part for your car . . . just install and everything works like new! Nope. After the new part is installed, there will be plenty of work to do to get the new part to function with the existing parts, as well as healing what's been altered. The recovery time varies from patient to patient and is dependent on many factors. He has a lot of positive factors in his corner so we are optimistic. Time, patience and lots of hard work will get us there!
In the mean time, I will do my best to keep everyone updated through this site. Please be patient with me . . . I will be looking after Todd while continuing to care for our four kiddos. My mom will be with us and she is a HUGE help!! (Thanks Mom!!) I know the kids are all concerned about their Dad, so we will try to keep things moving along at home as 'normal' as possible . . . knowing all along that we are anything but 'normal'!!! Ha!
Most of all, please pray that God's plans will be carried out and that we keep our eyes on that alone.
I will check in tomorrow as the day moves along. Thank you all for checking in on my Hubby . . . I think he is a pretty swell guy too!
