Toby Worrell

Thomas Benjamin Worrell made a surprise entrance on October 17th, 2016 at 3:39 pm--eight weeks before his due date. Anna had gone to the hospital the morning of October 16th concerned about abdominal pain. Though at first the doctors thought the issue was with her gall bladder, over the next day more tests disclosed that she suffered three life threatening conditions. The diagnosis was clear--Toby must be born to save both their lives. 


Toby entered the world crying. One of the best signs ever. He continues to do well and gives every indication that he is going to be a healthy boy. However, he is very small, only 3.75 lbs, and faces many milestones before he will be able to leave the hospital. He has had his first feeding--which went very well. He continues to respond to stimulus and has a very healthy cry. However, his bilirubin counts are going up and his weight down. So, much continued prayer for his recovery is needed.


At the same time, Anna continues to recover from the underlying conditions that required her ER C-section. Please pray for her strength, her healing, complete resolution of the underlying conditions, and for her to be able to care for Toby in all the ways a new mama so deeply desires.


Ben and Anna ask that you keep both Toby and Anna in your prayers. Especially prayers for health, healing, safety, and knowledge for the doctors and nurses. Prayers for Ben's stamina and encouragement would also be greatly appreciated as he cares for both Anna and Toby. 


Ben and Anna sincerely desire to keep everyone updated on both Toby and Anna. However, with all they are facing it is very difficult for them to respond to individual texts, phone calls, or e-mails. Please come to this site where we will try to give as much current information as is available. Ben and Anna will be able to read your comments and prayers on this site and find encouragement in those. As soon as they can, they want to be in contact. But until that is possible, they hope to keep everyone in the loop by regularly updating here.
