So there's bad news and good news. The bad news first: Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer in mid-October 2017. Cancer sucks. The good news: It was detected early. Tina's a fighter. And she's awesome!
She's selfless, passionate, talented, and hard-working. We wrote a little story about it. Wanna hear it? Here it goes:
In Kindergarden, on her first Sports Day, Tina was winning the lime-and spoon race. Her friend was having trouble keeping the lime in the spoon, and was in last place. Tina noticed, and turned back from the finish line to help her friend so that they could cross the finish line, holding hands together. That's Tina's spirit in a nutshell - totally oblivious about personal glory, more concerned about helping, and joyfully experiencing the moment with a friend.
She’s worn many hats including banker, restaurant owner & operator, caterer, expert baker of deserts, music festival manager, event planner, marketing guru....need I go on? I mean, the woman has hustle! She's fiercely loyal and protective of her loved ones. Her natural instincts lead her to nurture everyone in her orbit. Now, Tina needs us to take care of her.
Tina's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday December 12th, at UWI Hospital. The plan is for her to recover in Kingston before she returns home to Montego Bay. There are many ways to support including visiting, providing meals, driving/errand running, and donating funds to help with living expenses during her recovery and treatment time.
