Welcome to Tim's CaringBridge website.
Tim’s story began in November 2019 when he had his annual physical. As his bloodwork revealed his white blood count was extremely low, he was referred to a hematologist/oncologist at the Armes Family Cancer Care Center in Findlay.
A bone marrow biopsy was scheduled, which confirmed a diagnosis of MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). Tim was referred to a hematologist/oncologist at The James Cancer Care Center - OSU / Columbus. Expected progression to AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) was confirmed in early February 2020.
Tim began induction chemotherapy at The James on February 13. After many challenging and prayer-filled days, we received confirmation he was in remission on March 12.
Following three rounds of consolidation chemo in April, May and June, and confirmation of a donor match, Tim’s bone marrow / stem cell transplant was scheduled. He was admitted on July 23 for five days of pre-transplant chemo and received his transplant on July 29.
We are extremely thankful for the ongoing care provided by the extraordinary staff at The James Cancer Care Center as well as the Armes Family Cancer Care Center. Everyone has been absolutely amazing.
We are eternally grateful to Tim’s donor and to “Be the Match” (
https://bethematch.org/about-us/ ), the organization that facilitated the donor match and made Tim’s transplant a possibility. Our gratitude is beyond measure.
Thank you for visiting Tim’s page - We truly appreciated your support and prayers as Tim continues on this journey.
