Welcome to Tim Colwell's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate the prayer warriors who have united to agree that Tim is healed and that he will return to perfect health.

[Pictured in the family photo are Oaklyn, Dominique and Lauren Scales; Matt and Lauren Colwell; Patty and Tim Colwell; Justin, Jordan and Jensen Kingsley]

The basics are this, on Christmas Eve, Tim started with a low grade fever,  just as he was about to put the steaks on the grill. Son-in-law Dominique took over grill duties and Tim was banned to the bedroom.  Of course, the local kids did not come for Christmas and the Scales family (Lauren, Dominique and Oaklyn -- left side of photo above) only stayed until Santa made it and then fled back to McKinney. Unfortunately, the spread of the disease was already done.  Tim tested positive on December 26, mom tested negative however has had a cough and fever off and on since Christmas. Patty tested positive on December 28 but is totally asymptomatic. Lauren Scales tested positive as did Jordan and Justin Kingsley and Lauren Colwell. So far, Matt,  Oaklyn, and Jensen are negative. Dominique already has the antibodies from previous exposure and minimal symptoms.

Tim has taken two ambulance rides -- first on the 26th to St. John's Ascension ER where they did not admit him but pushed fluids and anti-nausea medication. The second EMSA call they didn't think he needed to go, but an hour later, he did. That was at 1:30 am on New Year's Eve.  We decided to go to Hillcrest South and had already checked the status of their ER. Tim called from the ER to let me know that they were superior in his treatment, and they were admitting him. We FaceTimed a couple of times, as he was first on an industrial CPAP, then progressed to the regular tube flow of oxygen, then to the warmed oxygen pushed through a larger canula. I sent him a text at 11:00 pm wishing him a Happy New Year, but then got a call from the step-down unit at 6:00 am that he had a bad night and he was struggling to breathe. His O2 level was low and they were sending him to ICU and would likely have to intubate.  Fortunately, I was able to FaceTime long enough to encourage and pray with him. Of course he couldn't resist trying to talk and did say "I love you" which I'm cherishing so deeply. Matt was also able to FaceTime and pray with him before the intubation.

So here we are on Day 5 (January 5th) of intubation, trusting God to fill his lungs with His breath and breathe wellness and His Holy goodness into Tim. Starting today, we will keep you updated through this site. Our phones are at capacity right now, so we would absolutely love it if you would use this site to track the latest on Tim, and please do leave any comments and prayers on the 'Well Wishes" tab, so our family can all share in your support, and so we can share them with Tim. We are holding onto the promises of Jesus and know that the same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us, and we are claiming that power over the healing in Tim Colwell's body.

We can't thank you enough for praying and claiming the healing and standing firm in your faith!

Again, if you would like to send prayers or words of encouragement to Tim, please submit them under the 'Well Wishes' tab.  We are doing our best to keep everyone updated, but if you know of others who know Tim, please feel free to share this page with them. We love you all.
