Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place, during Tiffany’s surgery and recovery.
A few months ago we found out that She had a rare genetic mutation, that increased her likelihood of Hereditary Diffused Gastric Cancer to 82%. This type of cancer is not detectable, nor preventative. Due to these reasons it was recommended that she undergo a total prophylactic gastrectomy to remove the risk of cancer by 100%. (Removal of her stomach) Tiffany’s surgery is scheduled for December 8th. She will be hospitalized for at least 4 days an then will require 6 weeks of post-surgery rest.
As you can imagine post surgery recovery will be very difficult on our family. It will prevent her from most daily activities, including caring for our 2 year old son, during the day; as well as daily chores and caring for our two older children.
