Thank you for visiting Tienne's page. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
What happened? At the end of April, Tienne went to the doctor due to worsening arm and leg pain. After a series of tests, it was determined the she has multiple myeloma, which is cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow. In addition to treatments for the cancer, due to damage done to her arm bone, she needed to have a major surgery to keep the arm stabilized. Currently, she is recovering at the home of her daughter.
So how is she doing!? Thus far she remains in good spirits! Slowly, she is regaining strength and able to return to doing certain tasks. Please know that if you have sent her a text message, she has definitely read it and it has brought her joy. However, since the surgery was on her right arm, texting can be strenuous at times.
What is next? More treatment! Right now she has a very busy schedule of treatments. Overtime, doctors will be assessing how her body reacts and what the long-term care plan will be. Her daughter and friends will be posting updates when possible, but please excuse us if it takes a while to update; we are all busy caring for our dear Tienne!
Anything else? Yes -- Tienne wants to leave you all with the words from one of her favorite songs that is inspiring her right now: Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, And long for heaven, heaven and home, When Jesus is my portion, My constant Friend is He; Oh, his eye is on the sparrow, And I know watched it over me. I sing because I’m happy I sing because I’m free For His eye, his eye is on the sparrow, And I know, I know He watches over me.
We appreciate your support and any words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!
