Welcome to our CaringBridge website for my mom Tico. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place and also to share our story as things progress. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Last January 2016 my mom, Tico Williamson now age 60 was diagnosed with Stage 4B vulvar cancer. She underwent 14 months of chemotherapy treatments and unfortunately nothing has worked. In June of 2017 her oncologist made the call to start hospice care after discovering her cancer is rapidly spreading and has entered her pelvic bones and other organs. Her wish is to spend her last days here in Colorado her grandchildren and daughter (me).  She arrived in Colorado on June 19th, 2017 and Pathways Hospice has helped us set up a beautiful room in our home for my mom to stay in. I will post updates as frequently as possible. I’ve come to realize that many people around me are curious about this process and given that my mom is pretty young to go through something like this and well let’s face it I’m pretty young to take on something like this while my husband Mike and I are trying to raise our own family… So, I’d like to share our story step by step in hopes it will help others who may be faced with taking care of a parent at some point in their lives and also to give myself an outlet to vent (thanks to the advice from several of my friends). We welcome all the support we can get and linked in the website is a place where friends and family can sign up to bring meals, spend time with mom, help out however or just provide words of wisdom. Thank you for visiting and helping during this time. We are so thankful for the incredible support system we have around us.
