Thomas Nicholas Tupy was born on April 7, 2020. His gestational age was 30 weeks and weighed in at 3lbs 5oz and 16inches long.
His health journey began when Carol (his mother) was diagnosed with polyhydramnios at around 22 weeks pregnant.  The doctors discovered that Thomas' wasn't swallowing enough amniotic fluid and that's why it was collecting in Carol.  The doctors determined that he could potentially have some kind of bowel obstruction and he would be evaluated after birth.  In the mean time, the potential for pre term labor was high because of the amount of fluid Carol was carrying.
Fast forward to April 3, Carol was admitted to the hospital for a small rupture of fluid, and the doctors gave her every type of medicine to help Thomas when he eventually would be born.
On April 7th he came into the world and has been in the NICU every minute.  Despite the initial fear and diagnosis of a bowel problem, the more prevalent problem for Thomas is Pulmonary hypertension.
Pulmonary hypertension affects arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart.  In order to fix Thomas little lungs, his heart needs to pump better blood to his lungs and his lungs need to relax and open up to accept the blood.
As a result, Thomas cannot breathe on his own, and has had a lot of intervention in the way of ventilation and medications.
This little boy is fighting for his life and he needs YOUR prayers. We are asking for help through the intercession of our Mother Mary, St. Thomas, and St. Jude.  Also please pray to any and all of your closest Saint friends.  Thomas needs a miracle.

Carol and Joe Tupy are Thomas' mother and father.  Thomas has 3 siblings  Dominic, Daniela, and Gemma who are very excited to one day meet their baby brother.
