Thomas was diagnosed this spring with pectus excavatum. This fall Thomas had CT, Heart ultrasound, pulmonary function test and a xray. The results showed that he would benefit from surgery. The surgery is called the Nuss Procedure. The surgeon will put a pectus bar in his chest and it will immediately correct the sunken chest. The surgery is scheduled for December 12 at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. The recovery for this procedure is painful and he will have limitations. He will be in the hospital 5 days. Please pray for a successful surgery and the pain will be as minimal as possible.
