December 1st 2016.. A normal night of sleeping and snow falling softly outside. I woke up suddenly..could that really be what I think it is?? Yes.. my water had broke, woke up Thad and we tried to decide what the best thing would be to do. Should we go to La Grande and maybe they would deliver baby there, or Baker since that was closer, or should we just drive to Boise? Decided we'd go to Baker.. No hospital close wanted to deliver a baby at 6 weeks early! So called Boise to send a team of doctors up. They arrived about n hour later - a team for baby and a team for mommy.. they all got together and decided it'd be best if we could get to Boise. In rolled the airplane stretcher. It was so small, I had to lay on my side n curl up my legs, then got zipped up into a bag style blanket then wide tight seat belts were put around. Talk about claustrophobic!!! Kissed Thad n Amanda goodbye and took th ambulance to the airport, loaded onto the plane, flew to Boise and then ambulance again to St. Luke's hospital. While still in the air I knew this baby wanted to be born..but really, in the airplane??? One of the ladies looked at meand said in a very stern voice, "we are not having this baby on this little airplane!!" Do not push!! By the time we got into th hospital they knew it was getting close.. They ran down the halls, could hear them panting and feel the cool wind on my face. Got into labor and delivery room baby was not waiting any longer!! They pulled me onto the bed and Thomas Lee was born! The nurse said we hadn't even been in the hospital room 1 minute!! He weighed in at 6lbs. 5.ozs. 20in. long. They wisked him away, put on oxygen and to the nicu he went. He's been fighting like a lil trooper ever since! thanks to everyone for all the prayers!!..
