All the support and words of hope and encouragement we received meant the world to us. Starting in the late winter of 2018, I had balance issues the cause of which were not easily identified. On Tuesday August 7 I had an MRI of my brain and a large mass was found (specifically a central neurocytoma). I had no pain and no disability. The ER doctor in Owosso, Bryan Christie, in consultation with an on-call neurosurgeon determined that the situation was not immediately life-threatening, but directed me to the University of Michigan hospital for quick action. I had surgery on August 21.
