Thank you for visiting Kelly's Caring Bridge Site. This is where we will update everyone on her journey. This is the best place to send messages of care, thoughts, love, encouragement and humor.
A diagnosis of cancer is life changing for anyone but to have that news presented to you when you’re 43 (38 in Kelly years), happily married with two sons, ages 7 and 3, is devastating. Kelly is not a self proclaimed strong individual, but to those of us that know her, well, we disagree. She has dealt with the emotional pains of the death of her parents and many loved ones, the physical pain of giving birth twice and has come out of everything the vibrant amazing individual that loves nature, animals and her family/friends with her whole being.
From here on out, her life will now be "before" her diagnosis on March 15, 2018 and "after". The after, a diagnoses of stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her liver and bone. What’s next? After testing and biopsies, it is determined that her cancer is estrogen receptor positive (the cancer feeds on estrogen). To combat this, hormone therapy has begun, ovaries will be removed, radiation will be done and chemo meds will be administered. Kelly, her family and friends now enter into the world of the unknown. How will she feel? How will her body react to these meds? What does she need? Each day will be different and each day will just be a focus of making it the best day possible. Watch for updates, send messages and love, send lots of love!
