Welcome to Liz, Joe and baby Elliot’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated and also as a means to show support to this amazing family. Elliot caught everyone by surprise coming 5 weeks early! As you can imagine, having just moved to a new house, there were still plenty of “to dos” Liz and Joe were working on including completing Elliot’s nursery. After a long labor, precious Elliot was born! At first glance, he seemed to be doing wonderfully for a preemie. Shortly after his arrival, Liz and Joe got news that no new parents hope for or can be prepared for. Elliot was born with craniocsynostosis. Two of his cranial sutures are prematurely fused which means he will need surgeries to address this so his brain can properly grow and also as not to cause future facial abnormalities etc. There are also indications that Elliot may have another syndrome tied to his craniosynostosis. There is still a great deal of uncertainty and many more tests to be run. While there is a long road ahead and many unanswered questions, one thing is for sure - Liz, Joe, and Elliot need our love, support, prayers.
If we can alleviate any of the financial and day to day burdens for this family, it will be easier for them to make sure Elliot is getting plenty of love and the proper care needed to aid in his journey. Whether it’s money, gift cards, help with house stuff, hugs, babysitting, a shoulder to cry on - let’s show the Dinzeo family how loved they are.
