Brenna Swaffar

Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I am using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. As some of you  may know in January of 2015 I received a mild TBI. This led to multiple visits to a concussion clinic and 2 rounds of vestibular therapy. After that it seemed everything was going to be alright. Then I started my junior year of high school. I started getting horrid migraines that would put me down for days at a time. I missed alot of school and we decided to scrap what I had done of the semester and take the rest to the year off. I would have to graduate a year behind my original class. A year behind my friends. I stared seeing a neurologist and started trying different treatments. After a good break we tried campus school again but ultimately went to online and homebound due to mt inability to handle the stimulus. This was around the time my dizziness started getting really bad and I started fainting frequently. I started seeing a cardiologist and started trying different methods to keep my upright. Homebound and online worked great for my first senior year and my constant headache that I had been having since the fall of 2015 had been letting up for a few hours a day. Now I am trying campus schooling for my second senior year and am on track to graduate! I have been diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension and neurogadriogenic syncope, my migraines are chronic and intractable thanks to my post concussive syndrome, and I am eagerly awaiting  a geneticist appoinment to determine a possible Ehlers Danlos Syndrome diagnoses due to hypermobility and chronic joint pain and subluxations.  And thats just a brief outline of everything thats piled up after recieving the most life altering bump on the head I'll ever recieve haha! Thank you for visiting and don't forget to check out my WordPress blog and Instagram, both are @thechronictypist
