On October 21, 2020, Katie learned that she was carrying twins, but also that one of the boys had a terminal diagnosis. Oliver was diagnosed with anencephaly, which means he will live for a very short time after birth. The pregnancy has been further complicated by blood flow issues related to Nehemiah's umbilical cord. The doctors at Harvard Vanguard and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center have carefully, competently, and compassionately monitored the pregnancy. The Bonners are so thankful for all the love and support shown to them during this trial. They have seen God's goodness evidenced through out these months and rest on the knowledge that God will give grace in the hard moments ahead.
