Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Barbara was diagnosed with squamous esophageal cancer on March 23, and since then has had multiple appointments, consultations, and tests to determine the next steps of her journey.  The end result is cautious optimism.  She has successfully fought a cancer battle before (twice!) and we remain hopeful that her fight will again result in remission and cure.    Barbara believes she is strong and in good physical condition, and with constant yoga practice has a toned, able body. These are tools for her path to wellness. Her team of providers will aggressively treat this cancer, and they agree that a holistic approach is beneficial.  As a matter of fact, they offer accupuncture, massage, and various aroma and reflexology therapies, which will complement her treatment.  We are confident in their advice, care, and knowledge.  Please do not worry - worry is wasted energy and so she asks all of you to keep positive energy, karma, and a faithful prayer in regard to her wholeness and wellness. Through this CaringBridge, we will do our best to keep you informed.  However, there might be days where communication is absent for any number of reasons, so please don't worry.  No word is ok - this is overwhelming and she requests that you always assume the best.
