On July 22, Terry went to the ER for a severe headache and there was an unidentified mass in his head on his imaging. The following week we met with an ENT and then a Skull Based Surgeon at Vanderbilt for a mass that was discovered in his sphenoid sinus cavity.  On August 2, he had a biopsy and it was confirmed as Lymphoma. Shortly followed his first oncology appointment on August 18. Terry was admitted from the office to initiate chemotherapy due to the aggressive nature and location of this cancer.

He completed the first round and went home on August 23rd. Terry was readmitted on August 29th for an infection, hat that time he also went into septic shock and was admitted to the Medical Intensive Care Unit. He has since stabilized and moved to the oncology floor. He is now very confused and at times having hallucinations of grandchildren, the cat, and that he is working.

His team is working very hard to identify the source of this altered mental status and several tests are still pending. For now, his second round of chemo therapy (originally scheduled for 9/9) remains on hold.  He will most likely need to go for intense physical therapy to regain some strength after his mental status concerns are addressed.

At this time while he remains in the hospital visitors are limited to his children, parents, and spouses. Thank you for understanding.
