Terri Verdone

During August of this year, I went in for my obligatory first colonoscopy since I reached that magic age of 50.  This was supposed to be the baseline.  It wasn’t.

During the procedure, the doctor found a mass in my rectum.  Turns out that it is cancer.  It has been a tough month.

I will begin radiation and chemo next week as the initial treatment.  After radiation/chemo, the surgeon will remove the mass and whatever else he needs to.  Then I will have 4 months of additional chemo in order to kill this thing.

It will be a hard, long haul.  However, I intend to beat it and come back stronger and better than before.

As I get new information, I will try to post updates.  This makes it easier for me, so that I don’t have to explain the same thing many times to many different people.  Much as I love you all, it’s too hard.
