Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As you know Terri supported her Mother all her life right to the end on Sunday 11/6, That first week in November, Terri felt ill, and had a dizziness first attributed to vertigo.  Monday 11/7 Terri insisted we make all of Mother's Funeral arrangements first, and then visit her Doctor.  She was walking to the left, and Dr Angarita called a friend to do an immediate MRI.  The MRI showed a brain tumor, and the initial diagnose shattered our world.  I kept this from her for the funeral while we searched for the Nation's best specialist.

Dr Lukas of the University of Chicago, was the absolute best choice, and Dr Angarita's office called in all favors, but a mid-December appointment with a lesser Doctor was the best we could do.

Obviously, this was not acceptable to me, and if my "type A" personality was ever needed, it was for Terri now.

Then I called the absolute Hero of this story, Mrs Gordon, President/ Owner of Tootsie Roll Industries, Inc.   She immediately made Terri her priority and had the U of C contact me within an hour, giving Terri the best possible care on earth immediately,  (an earthly miracle Mrs. Gordon has facilitated for many, many people).

We had our First Visit with Dr Lukas on Thursday Morning, he already had the oncology team and the surgical team involved.

The GOOD NEWS is the tumor appears to be type 1, least likely to be cancerous, (but we will not know the final world until the surgery on Wed 8:30 AM 11/16).

Dr Awad, (Again the Top Dr on Staff), will remove the tumor Wed AM, Terri will be in the U of C hospital for about 3 days.

We are storming Heaven with prayers from all denominations, but keep praying please.

More tomorrow when we meet with the surgeon.
