Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Our precious 2 year old Teresa (now 3 in October) has leukemia (Pre B cell ALL.) She was feeling so lousy during Vacation Bible School week in June and after that we finally took her in to the pediatrician the following Tuesday before we were supposed to leave on Family Vacation the next day, Wednesday, July 3. He sent us directly to the emergency room where her blood test already told us the worst that same night: leukemia. We did learn the best news, too, which is that it is the most common kind with a survival rate of over 80%. Second best news is that her first phase of treatment called Induction lasted 28 days and eradicated her leukemia cells! Teresal still needs weekly chemo for 9 months, including some hospitalizations, but we no longer have to consider some harsher treatments like bone marrow transplant or radiation. She is often at Dayton Children's Hospital during these 2 1/2 years of treatment, but when she is at home, she can receive two healthy guests at a time. We know that our whole family is already navigating this journey well because of the many, many prayers on our behalf, and that is the way we most crave support. But, you are welcome to support us in other ways (like meals and house cleaning,) and we have set up some sign ups that you are welcome to view:
