Greetings all;
I thought I&#39;d take a moment to let you know that we are all safe and ready to hunker down and wait out Hurricane Ian.
None of us (Dad, Patricia, myself) are in a mandatory evacuation zone and we&#39;ve all taken precautions to ride out this slow-moving wind/rain event.  The worst of the storm is forecast to hit Tampa/St. Pete area but we&#39;re likely to get a heavy dose of sustained 40-50 mph winds and several inches of rain before all is said and done at the end of the week.
Patricia will come to my place if things get really bad since she&#39;s very close to the community preserve, which is already somewhat saturated with rain water.  Her place was fine during Irma so we&#39;re assuming things will be fine again this time but not taking any chances.
I borrowed the neighbor&#39;s propane grill just in case we lose power and need to cook off thawing foods.  Dad is in a very sheltered apartment that is well inland so his worst threat will be water from the heavy, non-stop rains we&#39;re expecting.  I believe he and Brad may have already gone out to get sand bags to put at the apartment door (or rolled up towels) to keep the rain out (he&#39;s on the ground floor).
I&#39;ll try to keep you all posted as things progress but it you don&#39;t hear from me please stand by.  As they say: no news is good news, it may just be that we don&#39;t have the signals to get updates out for a brief period.
