Ted noticed something unusual so he schedule an appt with a doctor. He didn't delay. They did a CP scan and found a lump on his bladder. 1/3 of the lump was inside and 2/3 was outside. They scheduled surgery, removed the portion of the tumor that was inside the bladder and did a biopsy, which came back as malignant. Bladder cancer. They did not surgically remove the portion of the tumor outside of the bladder due to the damage it might do to the rest of his body. The doctors are recommending 6 - 8 weeks of chemo followed by surgery. Next steps - Ted meets with the Oncologist on Tuesday, January 31, and has a bone scan scheduled Wednesday, February 1. The bone scan is to rule out bone cancer.
