Max was diagnosed with Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML) - type 1 in February 2016. He began cancer treatment at MD Anderson in Houston. This past November, Max's cancer morphed and he received a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and he had to stay in Houston to begin a new clinical trial. This clinical trial has an intense treatment protocol but typically produces great results! - It has a 60 to 70% success rate. (Please read journal entries for updates on Max's treatment.)
