The fact is, at the end of October 2016, Masako was diagnosed with cancer. A stage 3 rectal tumor was found during Masako's first colonoscopy. There is no indication that it has spread. Her care is being managed by the University of California San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF). They encourage us that this type of cancer is both treatable and curable. We've begun the process! It will entail chemo therapy, then radiation, and ultimately surgery to remove "YASTUMON." That's our nickname for the unwelcome in her.
Thanksgiving Day was both our tenth wedding anniversary and Masako's first full day with her Chemo Cocktail. The entire process will probably take us into this time next year. For now, Masako is at home with Mark & our cat CHIBI. The immediate game plan is to walk through this first phase of chemo, restructure our daily life to accommodate Masako's medical needs, let our friends and family know what's up, and keep just living each day to the fullest as Masako gets stronger. She is at home. By God's Grace Go We. M & M By the way, we've made a donation to this CaringBridge web company on your behalf. So no need for you to unless you really want to. Actually, all of the "Donation" monies go directly to the web company, not us personally.
