Margaret Lichty Team Margaret

Welcome to the Team Margaret website.  Most of you know that Margaret Lichty was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few years ago. There have been multiple physical and emotional challenges as a result. Over the past few years, many of Margaret's friends in our community have rallied together to provide love and support to the Lichtys.  What a blessing Margaret is to her friends and family!  The cover picture is one I took while out to lunch with Margaret a while ago. It captures Margaret perfectly I think: full of love and laughter.

The past several weeks have presented Margaret with another unimaginable challenge.  After a doctor appointment to address a pain issue, biopsies were done and then confirmed that Margaret has breast cancer.  Some of Margaret's doctors believe the cancer is a direct result of her MS infusion therapy. Statistically this happens to 1 in 100 patients (as I have been told).  Unfortunately our dear Margaret is one of these.  It has not been officially determined if she will continue the infusions during chemotherapy.

At this point not much is known about staging or the advancement of the cancer.  An MRI is scheduled for today. More scans/tests will likely be performed very soon.  The Lichtys will meet with the surgeon next week. When more information is available we will update here.

The Lichtys will need some time to endure the waiting process for definitive diagnosis and treatment.  For now please lift the Lichtys up to our merciful God.

Everyone who is lucky enough to have Margaret in their life knows that her soul is absolutely beautiful.  On behalf of Team Margaret, thank you for your support, words of hope, and encouragement.  Your much needed love and prayers are evidence of God's favor and perfect grace.  Peter, Margaret, Anne, and Charles will need them for the long road ahead.

Go Team Margaret!

Psalm 40:1-3I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
