Hi! I'm Jodi.  I'm 8 years old and in third grade.  I love to act, sing, dance and read.  I am learning to play the violin and guitar.  I love to play Barbies and legos with my two little sisters, Audrey and Violet.  I like to write plays with my friends.  I love to make new friends and make people smile.  When I grow up, I want to be in musicals on Broadway.  And I wish that there was a medicine so no one would ever have to get sick.

In November, 2017, Jodi discovered a lump in the muscle near her knee.  After seeing the pediatrician and having an ultrasound, we learned it was a hard mass.  We saw an oncologist, an orthopedic surgeon, and had an MRI which led the doctors to believe it could be a sarcoma.  On December 2, 2017 Jodi had a surgery to remove a portion of the mass and test the tissue.  Before they woke her up from surgery, they called us in to give us the bad news.  Jodi has an aggressive sarcoma that will most likely require chemo, radiation, and further surgeries.  We are in the process of getting lots of scans to determine if it's spread to her lungs and lymph nodes and also what stage she is.  We are also waiting on test results to tell us which type of sarcoma she has.  We know she has a great team of doctors and nurses and we are committed to staying positive and having fun every day while we beat this cancer!  We hope you will join us!

*****UPDATE: We got the call on December 8th, something happened with the initial tests.  We don't know why, but the later tests showed no cancer and all of her scans confirmed it.  They ran them multiple times to be sure, because apparently this doesn't happen.  We are in shock and are just humbly going to accept this Christmas miracle.  Jodi will still have to watch her tumor, go in for follow ups, and possibly more surgery, but the worst is over.  We are in disbelief and just want to celebrate every day.  This girl is getting more hugs and kisses than she probably wants right now!!!!!  :)  We are so grateful to the Strong Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester, NY.  We are going to donate our money and our time to them now and in the future.  They will always have a soft spot in our hearts for the care they took with our baby girl.  Thank you to everyone who sent their love and light and prayers and thoughts.  Team Jodi wins!
